Haplotech History

It all begins with the founder and CEO of Haplotech, Rale Gjurić, with over 30 years of experience in the plant breeding industry and 10 years of teaching the plant breeding academy at the UC Davis. The initial creation of Haplotech Inc. (1.0) in 2009 was Rale’s sole idea as he sought to carve out a niche in the breeding service world.

Haplotech Inc. rapidly grew into a global provider of plant breeding services with an ever growing client list and engaging in various crops. In 2020, Haplotech was acquired for it’s infrastructure to service a large breeding program. Largely moving away from services and directly focusing on a single program.

In 2024, the infrastructure and rights to the name Haplotech Inc. were acquired by Rale and his sons, Marko and Dikan. Thus Haplotech (2.0) had been born! We will continue to provide plant breeding services in a host of crops offering solutions for small to large breeding programs.
